Privacy Policy — GutCheck

Last updated 30 July 2026. GutCheck is operated by the AI Agency. This policy explains, in plain terms, what happens to your data when you play.

The short version

There are no accounts and no logins. Your answers, your confidence ratings and your verdict are worked out inside your own browser and stay there. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell personal information. The only third parties involved are Google's advertising and analytics services, described below.

What stays in your browser

To remember your streak and keep each day to a single honest attempt, GutCheck saves a small record under the key gutcheck.v1 in your browser's local storage. It holds the date you last played, your archetype, your calibration score, your accuracy and average confidence, and your streak length. Nothing in it identifies you, and it is never sent to us — it never leaves your device. You can wipe it at any time by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings, and the app still works fine without it (it simply forgets your streak). If storage is unavailable, for example in private-browsing mode, GutCheck plays normally and remembers nothing.

What we measure

We use Google Analytics 4 to count aggregate usage — how many runs are started and finished, which verdict archetypes come up, and whether people share their result. These events carry only counts and an archetype label: no names, no email addresses, no answers, no free text. We use them to decide whether to keep improving GutCheck, not to track individuals.

Advertising & cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads, which is what keeps GutCheck free. Google and its partners use cookies (including the Google DoubleClick DART cookie) and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, in some cases based on your visits to this and other sites. Where the law requires it, Google's certified consent tool asks for your choice before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and we honour that choice — analytics and ad storage start in a denied state until you decide. You can change your mind at any time from the consent tool, and clear existing cookies in your browser.

You can also opt out of personalised advertising directly at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Google's own explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Sharing your result

Nobody sees your result unless you choose to share it. When you do, the few numbers on your card — the date, your archetype, your score, accuracy, confidence and streak — are encoded directly into the share link. Opening that link asks our server to draw the card image from the link itself; we keep no database of results, so nothing is stored on our side, and the link reveals only what is printed on the card.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we hold no account and no server-side record of you, there is normally nothing personal for us to export or erase — the data lives in your browser and you control it directly. You still have the right to ask what we hold, to request deletion, to object to processing, and to accept or reject advertising cookies at any time. We do not sell personal information, and GutCheck is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how GutCheck handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

Contact & data rights
